Yes. A juror is paid $25 for each day actually served.
Those that appear that are not picked receive $12.00.
If you would like to decline payment for any reason, please request a form from the judge’s bailiff before leaving the Courthouse.
An employer is not required to pay you while on jury duty; however, employers are prohibited by law from firing an employee for serving as a juror.
Any person charged with a criminal offense or any party to a civil case has a right to a jury trial. All parties are equal before the law and each is entitled to the same fair treatment.
After you have been selected as a juror on a case, if you have a special need or an emergency, tell the bailiff.
After the jurors return their verdict and are dismissed by the judge, they are free to go about their own affairs. They are under no obligation to speak to anyone about the case and may refuse any and all requests for comment. Nevertheless, members of a jury may discuss their experience as a juror with others if they so desire, but they may not divulge any information respecting the vote of any other juror.
Yes. Your jury summons is an official court order. If anyone fails to report for jury duty without a lawful excuse from the court, they may be brought before the court for contempt of court proceedings. Without jurors, the jury system cannot work the way the Constitution intended it to. We realize the sacrifice we are asking you to make and understand that you may be apprehensive about serving. However, the majority of people say they find the experience rewarding and wouldn't mind doing it again.
Please take the time to thoroughly read the summons. It contains a great deal of information that may be helpful to you. Once you have read it please complete the questionnaire online at: https://oh.ezjustice.us/jury/warren

The court has the responsibility to examine jurors under oath or affirmation as to the individual juror's qualifications and will permit both the plantiff and defendant to ask questions of the jurors. Jurors may ask questions of the judge or either party regarding their responsibilities as juror. The court and opposing parties seek a jury who will be impartial and have open minds. Your honest answer to each question is extremely important. The court and opposing parties will select jurors who will hear the case. No prospective juror shall fail to answer any legal and pertinent question posed to the prospective juror by the court. If any question is asked that you would prefer not to answer in front of the entire jury pool, you may ask the court to asnwer privately on the record.
